Forest Farm Wildlife 8th and 14th November
The Kingfishers are showing well at forest farm, catching lots of fish on the ponds, the river Taff is running high so they are concentrating on the ponds, I have seen two different birds, there have bean a few territorial disputes between the two birds chasing each other around the ponds, a fox showed up on the far bank, just a quick view.

After the recent rains the river is again running high, no sign of any Kingfishers just a dipper working hard to catch shrimp in the fast flowing waters.

23rd September Kingfisher none Cormorant one
An afternoon in the hide, after a two hours waiting for the Kingfisher I herd a splash in the river I couldn't see anything from were I was then a Cormorant appeared on the opposite side of the bank and started to dry its wings he was looking straight at me every time the shutter went on the camera he would flinch, he then decided to sit on the perch I had erected for the Kingfisher, I was waiting for it to break with its weight well it dident they must be lighter than they look.
12th September
5th September
Very little sign of the Kingfisher of late, last seen flying upstream on the 8th and 10th of September, decided to erect new perches on the other side of the river, went back a few days later with a portable hide, the Kingfisher was having none of it and just flew straight past, all was not lost as a Buzzard came up from the river after washing and perched in front of the hide.

August 14th another day with the kingfisher
Wet and windy, the river was running high, i was glad to see the perch i had put up was still there, they usually get pushed out by the strong currents, after waiting a few hours the kingfisher turned up haven't seen any fishing going at the perch he just sits there and looks around, i might have to move it to a better spot.
